A gentle, supportive five-week somatic group for adults with an active ACC Sensitive Claim. Designed to run alongside your one-on-one therapy when your body hasn't quite caught up with your talking work. Reconnect with choice, safety, and your body at your own pace.
When the talking work is done, but the body remembers
The Heart Series is tailored for adults engaged in ACC Sensitive Claims therapy. It is not a replacement for your individual counselling, but a somatic companion when cognitive understanding alone isn't enough to settle your nervous system.
Who it is for
For those who feel braced or numb, sleep without resting, or notice their body reacting as though the past is still happening right now.
How it differs
No mirrors, no hands-on assists, and no shapes to replicate. Every movement is purely an invitation with complete freedom to pause or opt out.
Fully funded support
Sessions are fully funded for clients with an active ACC Sensitive Claim. Group hours are allocated straight from your approved ACC package.
There is nothing to get right here
Most people feel nervous before joining, and you will never be expected to share personal details or talk about what happened. A closed cohort of 10 to 12 people means the same familiar faces each Sunday, co-facilitated with care by Vida Buchanan (MNZAC) and somatic practitioner Liz Kerr.
Programme details and weekly flow
Held in person at Om Yoga Studio in Stonefields, Auckland, across five Sundays (2:00 pm – 4:00 pm). Each two-hour gathering focuses on an intentional weekly theme — anger, sadness, fear, shame and guilt, concluding with healing the heart. The flow incorporates gentle trauma-sensitive yoga, Havening techniques, tapping, intentional breathwork, reflective journaling, and a keepsake bead to take home.
